Boston Marathon for Breast Cancer Awareness
On April 9th, my close friend and former Kappa president at William & Mary, Elizabeth Black, will be running in the 113th Boston Marathon. She will be running for her mother, Lisa Black (a 9-year survivor of breast cancer), and raising money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help find a cure for breast cancer.
For those of you who don’t know, I try to support Komen whenever I can, and have been raising money through my Breast Cancer Awareness Bracelet design to give to teams of girls running in the Race for the Cure. This year, I am donating all of my procedes from these bracelets to Elizabeth and I am in full support of everything she is doing. I’ve never known someone to be so passionate about a cause and eager to do all she can to help out. If she wants to run a full marathon to help fight breast cancer, well she’s got my vote (and financial support!).
Help Elizabeth too if you can – here is her donation website.
or you can simply join her Facebook group “Boston to Fight Breast Cancer” and show your support that way.
Go Elizabeth!!
